Day and Night Time Skincare Routine

Welcome to the most isolated place on Internet...

Hello, it's me again.
Elizabeth from Reviews.com emailed me the other day to give their website a shoutout. The website basically provides many information you would need to know from skincare to drinking water. I personally find their resources very useful hence I decided to share this useful information to everyone reading this.

"Good things must share"

As stated on the title, I will be talking about my morning and night time skincare routine. But let me give you a challenge: check if all of your skincare products are the "Best" by using the resources on Reviews.com.

Every morning, without fail, I will wash my face with a cleanser because #oilyface. I will wake up with an oily face every morning. Honestly, my face produces A LOT of oil, so much oil I reckoned that I could fry an egg with it.

The cleanser I am currently using is the Green Tea Cleansing Foam by Innisfree.
Using the guide to find The Best Facial Cleanser, it states that simple alcohol and Big Four sulfates are to be avoided. Luckily, the cleanser that I am using does not contain ingredients that were mentioned.
HOWEVER, the ingredient "Sodium Benzoate", Google states that the combination of sodium benzoate and citric acid forms a cancer-causing chemicalI AM SHOOKED! Guess who is gonna change her cleanser once she finished it? 🙋 So if you find any sodium benzoate in your facial cleanser, it's time to change.

Luckily I found a replacement: HERB DAY Cleansing Foam Lemon by The Face Shop. It does not contain any ingredients to be avoided. I will keep you guys updated when I purchased the cleanser.

I am using two different kinds of toners: Mamonde's Rose Water Toner and Hada Labo's Hyaluronic Super Acid Hydrating Lotion

After patting my face dry, I will spray Mamonde Rose Water Toner (in COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner bottle) and use a cotton pad to wipe my entire face. Then use the Hyaluronic Super Acid Lotion to pat all over my face.

Essence is a basically a serum but lightweight, that gives hydration to the skin.
The COSRX Advance Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, is actually my first essence and first snail product used. I will usually use it at night, and/or on any discoloration, acne marks to give it extra hydration for my skin to repair.

Aloe Vera.
Looking at The Best Face Moisturizer, it states that a moisturizer should include humecant (eg aloe vera). But *spoiler alert* mine doesn't, so I lowkey hope that having this step will compensate the absence of humecants in my moisturizer.

Spot Treatment.
In Korean beauty, spot treatment means targeting to the problems that you are most concern about. ie acne, dark circles, hyper pigmentation.

As for myself, I use the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream for my pimples.

With reference to The Best Acne Treatment, my pimple cream is safe to use!

Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion is the one I am using for both day time and night time. It passed the test except for one (the humecant test) as a day time moisturizer, but as a night time moisturizer, maybe not so much. Because day time moisturizers and night time moisturizers are totally different, with different ingredients in it. (The Best Face Moisturizer)

Occasionally, aka when I feel like it, I will include the COSRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask in my night time skincare. But it didn't really pass the test as a night time moisturizer too. I guess I really should hunt for one soon.

Sun Protection.
As you can see from the picture above, the sunscreen/sun protection I am currently using is by the brand Biore. I really like this product because it is really lightweight. To me, it feels like water that evaporates into the air.

These are the products that I don't use on a daily basis, ie 1-2 times per week. They are actually different types of exfoliators: chemical exfoliators (COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid; Holika Holika Egg Peeling Gel //gudetama edition//) and clay mask (Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask).

On days where I feel like my face looks dull and needed a little 'brighten up', I will pick one from my exfoliating collection and "pamper" my skin (I guess). I really do enjoy using them especially the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid to remove the blackheads on my nose, the clay mask on my pimples to act as a pimple cream and the egg peeling gel to get soft skin.

I know that was a lot of content, but can you feel my extra effort I put into this particular post?
Anyways, to clear any misunderstanding, I may have said that Reviews.com approached me to mention their website here, but I really do feel that it is very useful *touch my heart*. Also, I am not paid to say any of these so #notspon

By the way, do leave a comment if you slay the challenge I gave you. Have a nice day everyone!

September Favorites

Welcome to the most isolated place on Internet...

Hello everyone, long time no see. How are you doing this year so far? Time flies especially quick for me this year. It feels like yesterday was Valentine's Day, and BAM we have got less than 27 days till Halloween, and 82 more days till Christmas.

Anyways, we will be talking about favorites today.
I have to say though, this might be the most random "favorites" list that I ever had.

1. gothere.sg
When I was first introduced to this website by my friend, via text, I thought she was joking and trying to be sarcastic. Long story short, I wanted to meet my friends at a place that I have never been to, so I asked a friend of mine for help and she told me about this website, but I thought that she was pranking me. But it turns out that it is a legit website and changed my life completely. Lemme explain how amazing this website is!

After you entered the address ("gothere.sg") in your smartphone, the first thing you should see is this (picture on the left). Fill in the "From' and "To"  (aka where you want to go and from where) then tap "Go There". Let the page load and it will show how to get to your destination by your preferred form of transportation; ie bus, train, taxi, car. It even calculates the estimated time and amount ($$) to spend for that particular trip. ISN'T THAT AMAZING!?

Sadly, the website is Singapore-based only. But to the other Singaporeans that just got to know about this gem through this blog post, you're welcome!

2. Highlight
For those who didn't know who Highlight is, it is a Kpop group. Once upon a time, there was a Kpop group called BEAST (or B2ST), with 6 group members. The contract with their record label (called Cube Entertainment) ended and they didn't want to resign it. Before the contract ended, 1 member left the group. After the contract ended, the remaining 5 decided to start up their own record label called Around US Entertainment and they debuted as Kpop group called Highlight.

The reason why I love them so much is mainly because of their talents. I just really enjoy listening to them and my favorite songs to listen to, while brushing my teeth/getting ready, are "Ribbon" and "Shadow", both sung by BEAST, which technically is also by Highlight. Also, they are really funny too. I find that I feel much more happy and content after watching their videos, be it their performances or the variety shows that they appeared in. 😄

For those who are wondering, my favorite member of BEAST/Highlight is Yong Jun Hyung-oppa😏). Lemme tell you why...

I mean LOOK AT THAT! To be completely honest, NEVER in my entire life have I imagined myself fangirl-ing about Kpop idols in my blog. I just really like him. He is just my cup of tea. ☕😌

3. Books
The Divergent series was LIT. I know I am way behind the times to start reading the trilogy series but I'm glad I did. I am still at my third book, Allegiant. But I really like the novel. It got me hooked into dystopian novels, which I was not all about it previously. I mean what can I really say much about it? I like the series and hence it is in my favorites list. Period.

4. Movie(s)
I only watched one movie in the month of September, but it was really good. It is called "Midnight Runners", a Korean movie. I realised that I am somehow moving towards the Korean-esque direction. Anyways, the main leads are Park Seo Jun and Kang Ha-neul (both very handsome), and the genres of the movie are Action and Comedy. The plot started off with both of them joining the police academy for different reasons. But they somehow witness a kidnap incident and that was how the story progressed.

The movie is a mixture of laughing, nail-biting and cursing moments. I don't want to give out too much, but if you are interested, you may watch the trailer below.

5. TV Show(s)
There are a few TV shows that I want to mention.
1. Princess Wei Young (read description here)
2. Eternal Love (read description here)
3. We Bare Bears (read description here)

The first two are China-based drama, both revolves in the ancient era. While the last one is a cartoon show (haha). I'm sure many know about this cartoon show already because it is becoming more popular. But just in case, I will leave a picture of it below.

That's all the things I love in the month of September. See ya, ciao.
